OATMEAL CARMELITAS 
1 (14 oz.) pkg. Kraft caramels
2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. evaporated milk
2 c. quick oats
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. butter, melted

Melt caramels in evaporated milk; cool slightly. Combine remaining ingredients, except nuts and chocolate chips. Press 1/2 of crumbs into a greased 13 x 9 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over the top. Spread carefully with caramel mixture. Sprinkle on remaining crumbs. Bake 15-20 minutes longer. Cut into squares when cool.
