CRACKER TORTE PIE 
3 egg whites
1 1/2 tsp. rum extract
1/8 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. chopped pecans
3/4 c. saltine crumbs
1 tsp. baking powder
Whipping cream

Beat egg whites until stiff, add rum and salt gradually beat in sugar until stiff, fold in 1/2 cup of nuts and 3/4 cup saltine crumbs. Mix in baking powder, spread in buttered pie dish that has been rinsed in cold water (after being buttered).

Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Spread whipped cream on top when cold and sprinkle 1/4 cup chopped nuts on top of whipped cream.
