PRUNE BREAD 
1 1/2 c. dried prunes
2 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
2 tbsp. melted shortening

Boil prunes in 1 1/2 cups water 1 minutes. Cool. Drain. Pit prunes. Mix dry ingredients with eggs and shortening. Add prunes and prune juice and water to make 2 cups. Beat until smooth. Bake 60 minutes, 350 degrees. Makes 1 loaf.
