RAW APPLE BARS | |
4 c. peeled and diced apples 1 tsp. nutmeg 2 c. sugar 2 tsp. baking soda 2 eggs 3 c. flour 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. Wesson oil Cream sugar, oil and eggs. Add dry ingredients. Mix and add apples and nuts, if desired. Batter will be stiff and thick, the apples add moisture as it bakes. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes. Top while warm with brown sugar topping. Mix 1 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and add 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup cream or milk. Cook stirring until thick. Add 2 teaspoons vanilla and spread on bars. These freeze well. Can add nuts, if desired. |
