HAM VEGETABLE STRATA | |
1 can cream of mushroom soup, condensed 2 beaten eggs 1 1/2 c. milk 4 slices white bread, cut into 1" cubes 1 1/2 c. finely diced fully cooked ham 1 c. cooked peas 2 slices white bread 1 tbsp. butter 1/2 c. shredded American cheese (2 oz.) ADVANCE PREPARATION: In bowl, combine soup and eggs. Stir in milk. Put 1/2 of bread cubes in 9"x9"x2" baking dish. Top with ham and peas. Sprinkle with remaining bread cubes. Pour soup mixture over it. Cover; chill 6 to 24 hours. Spread 2 slices bread with butter cut into 1/2" cubes. Wrap and chill. BEFORE SERVING: Sprinkle buttered cubes on top of casserole. Bake at 325 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes or until set. During last few minutes, top with cheese. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. Serves 6. |
