PASTRY GERMAN STIRRED 
1 lb. lard
3 tsp. salt
5 c. sifted flour
1 egg yolk
Milk

In large saucepan, heat lard to melted stage, remove from heat. Add salt, stir, add flour and stir. In a 2 cup measure, put 1 egg yolk, fill with milk to the 1 cup line. Add to mixture in saucepan. Stir together until milk is taken up. Put in aluminum foil and chill until hard. Makes a large amount of pastry dough. Use a lot of flour when rolling out.
