CHOCOLATE PIE 
1 c. milk
4 tsp. grated chocolate
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. butter
2 egg yolks, beaten slightly
3 1/2 tsp. flour
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 pie shell, baked
Meringue (recipe follows)
Whipped topping, Optional

Scald milk. Add chocolate and sugar. Add butter, egg yolks, and flour which has been moistened with a little cool water or milk. Cook all together in top of double boiler for 10 minutes or until thick, stirring constantly. When cool add vanilla. Pour into baked pie shell. Cover with meringue and brown. Can be topped with whipped topping when cool.

MERINGUE:

2 egg whites
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 c. sugar

Combine egg whites and cream of tartar. Beat until soft peaks form. Gradually beat in sugar. Put lightly on pie and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
