FRENCH POUND CAKE 
1 c. milk
1/4 lb. butter
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 rounded tsp. baking powder

Beat eggs until golden. While eggs are beating, put milk and butter in small saucepan and cook over low heat until butter is melted. Do not boil. Add sugar to eggs. Gradually add flour and mix well. Gradually add warm milk and butter mixture. (Mixture will be very thin.) Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. Cake will leave side of pan when done.
