GRAPEFRUIT FIZZ 
1 c. sugar
2 c. water
3 whole allspice
3 whole cloves
1 (6 oz.) can frozen concentrated grapefruit juice
1 (28 oz.) bottle ginger ale or 7 Up
Green food coloring
Ice cubes
1 lemon, cut into 6 slices
6 maraschino cherries

Combine sugar, water, allspice, and cloves in a medium size saucepan; heat to boiling, then simmer 5 minutes. Strain into a large pitcher and cool.

Stir in frozen grapefruit juice until thawed, then ginger ale and a few drops of food coloring to tint green. Pour over ice cubes in tall glasses; garnish each with a slice of lemon and a maraschino cherry.
