WELSH COOKIES 
4 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 c. lard
3/4 c. butter
1 c. currants
2 eggs, beaten with fork and fill cup with milk

Mix all ingredients by hand. Roll out using very little flour. Use glass as cookie cutter. Bake on a griddle until lightly browned on both sides (electric griddle set at 350 degrees).
