CHRISTMAS CAKE AND BUTTER SAUCE
TOPPING
 
CAKE:

1/3 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 c. milk
3 c. chopped cranberries
1 c. chopped nuts

TOPPING:

2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1 c. butter
1 c. cream
2 tbsp. vinegar
2 tsp. vanilla

Mix cake ingredients together. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until browned.

TOPPING: Mix flour and sugar in heavy saucepan. Add rest of ingredients except the vanilla. Cook over low heat stirring constantly. Boil one minute, remove from heat and add vanilla. Serve warm over cake.
