GRANNY'S TEA CAKES | |
1 c. Crisco 1 1/2 c. sugar 3 eggs 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 c. buttermilk 1 1/4 tsp. vanilla Cream shortening and sugar, beating well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add dry ingredients together, add alternately with creamed mixture and buttermilk. Cover and chill for 1 hour. Roll dough 1/4 inch thick on floured surface. Cut with cookie cutter. Bake in cookie sheet that has been greased at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until edges are brown. Makes 4 dozen. |
