1 3/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate morsels

Add vanilla and dates alternately with flour mixture and mix well. Stir in 1/2 cup chocolate morsels. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Sprinkle remaining chocolate morsels and nuts on batter. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until done.
