GINGERBREAD MEN | |
1/2 c. shortening 1/2 c. molasses 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. sour milk (1/2 c. milk mixed with 1/2 tsp. vinegar) 2 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. ginger 3 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt Cream shortening. Add sugar, gradually. Stir in molasses. Add 1/4 cup flour sifted with soda, salt and spices. Stir thoroughly and add remaining flour; alternating with milk. Chill dough. Roll about 1/3 inch thick on floured board. Use cookie cutters. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes. |
