GINGERBREAD MEN | |
1/4 c. boiling water 1/2 c. Crisco 1 egg 1/2 c. dark brown sugar 1/2 c. molasses 1/2 tsp. ground cloves 3 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. ginger 1/2 tsp. salt In a large bowl, pour boiling water over Crisco. With mixer at medium speed beat until well mixed. Add egg, brown sugar, molasses. Beat until well blended. In medium bowl combine dry ingredients. Gradually add this to molasses mixture and beat just until blended. Wrap and chill dough at least 2 hours. Grease cookie sheets. Roll dough to 1/4 to 1/8 inch thick. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes 2 dozen. |
