COCONUT CREAM PIE 
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. milk
5 tbsp. flour
1 1/2 c. scalded milk
3 egg yolks
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar, flour, and salt with cold milk. Add scalded milk while stirring. Cook on low heat until thick. Add beaten yolks, then cook for 2 minutes longer. Remove from stove and add vanilla. Cool. Put in coconut crust. Beat egg whites until stiff to which 6 level tablespoons sugar have been gradually added. Brown in oven.

COCONUT CRUST:

2 c. raw coconut
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter

Brown in oven to light brown before adding filling. Put some coconut in filling and on top.
