EASY CHOCOLATE CAKE | |
2 c. sugar 1/2 c. butter (heaping) 2 unbeaten eggs 3 sq. semi-sweet chocolate 3 c. cake flour 2 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. baking soda in the flour 1 tsp. baking soda in the milk 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat. Add melted chocolate and mix. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with buttermilk. Bake in a large loaf pan at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes or until done. This is very good frosted with topping used on German Chocolate Cake. ONE MINUTE FUDGE FROSTING: 1 c. sugar 1/4 c. cocoa 1/4 c. half & half 1/4 c. butter 1 tsp. vanilla Add all ingredients except vanilla together and bring to a boil. Boil 1 minute. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and beat until stiff enough to spread on cake. |
