GERMAN TORTE 
1 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 whole eggs

Beat butter, sugar and eggs until light and creamy, then add flour and baking powder. This will be thick and pasty. Spread on bottom of greased 9x13x2 inch pan or two 8 inch round or square pans.

Cut 10-18 pieces of fruit in eighths (or quarters for plums). Place these on end very closely together into dough. Sprinkle with small amount of cinnamon. Bake for one hour at 350 degrees or until nice and brown.

Then beat until like meringue: 1 c. sugar 2 whole eggs

Spread quickly onto hot torte. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon cinnamon over it and bake another 20 minutes. Serve hot or cool with ice cream or whipped cream.
