HOT GERMAN POTATO SALAD 
7 to 8 potatoes
4 eggs
Sm. onion
6 slices bacon
4 tbsp. vinegar
3/4 c. water

Boil potatoes in their jackets until done. Boil eggs. Cut up potatoes, eggs, and onions. Cut bacon in little squares. Fry bacon; pour off grease. Mix water, vinegar, and sugar (if not sweet enough, add sugar - if not sour enough, add vinegar - if watery tasting, add both). Pour over bacon. Heat to boiling and boil for 2 minutes. Then pour over potatoes, eggs, and onion. Mix together and add salt and pepper to taste. Serves 8 or 9 people.
