MAGIC FRUIT CAKE 
1 (9 oz.) pkg. Bordens None Such Mince Meat
1/2 c. water
1 c. walnut meats, coarsely chopped
1 c. (8 oz.) mixed candied fruit, coarsely chopped
1 1/3 c. (15 oz. can) Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
1 egg, beaten
3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Break mince meat into small pieces and put in 2 quart saucepan. Add water. Place over heat and stir until lumps are thoroughly broken. Boil briskly one minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; cool. Add nuts, candied fruit, Eagle Brand and egg. Blend well. Stir in flour and baking soda until just blended. Pour mixture into 9"x4"x3" loaf pan which has been greased, lined with wax paper and greased again.

Bake in moderate oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until center springs back when lightly touched with finger and top is golden brown.

Best fruitcake recipe ever. When I was attending school in OKC in 1983 my mother baked one at home in Maine and mailed it to me. It was the best Christmas present a person could ever receive! She had been using this recipe for decades.
