SNICKER DOODLES 
1 c. shortening (part butter)
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. cinnamon

Cream together shortening, sugar and eggs. In another bowl, sift flour, cream of tartar, and soda. Add to above mixture then roll into balls the size of walnuts and roll sugar and cinnamon mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until lightly browned but soft. They will puff up then flatten. Bake 8 minutes at 400 degrees.
