CHOCOLATE CARAMEL LAYER BARS 
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
2/3 c. evaporated milk
3/4 c. butter, melted
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
Pecans, chopped
1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels (50 caramels)

Over double boiler, melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Mix cake mix, melted butter and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Spread half the cake mix in a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake for 6 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven. Pour caramel mixture over the crust. Sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans over this. Then drop globs of cake mixture on top. Bake 16 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Cut while warm.
