FRIED PIES 
1/2 c. oil
1/2 c. sweet milk
Pinch of salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 1/4 c. flour, approximate
Fruit, cooked

Put 1/2 cup of oil in a measuring cup. Fill cup to top with sweet milk; add a pinch of salt and 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. Work in enough flour to roll out on bread board. Take a saucer and lay upside down on the dough and cut around it.

Put cooked fruit (apples, peaches, apricots, etc.) on half of circle. Turn it over and pinch the edges together to seal. Cook in deep fat on one side, turn over and finish cooking on other side. Drain on paper towels. Decorative leaves made from the pastry.
