GERMAN TORTE CAKE 
1 Duncan Hines yellow cake mix (use milk instead of water)
2 eggs in mix and beat
Separate 4 eggs (save yolks)
3 tbsp. sugar to whites
1 tbsp. vanilla

Beat until stiff.

Pour cake in greased and floured pan. Top with egg white mixture. Sprinkle with cinnamon and black walnuts. Make 3 layers. Bake according to cake box.

FILLING:

2 tbsp. flour
4 egg yolks
1 c. sugar
1 c. milk
1 c. water
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 stick butter

Cook until mixture is thick. Chill while cake is cooling. Spread filling between layers. Serve chilled.
