NOODLES WITH CABBAGE 
1 lg. cabbage (about 3 lbs.), core removed and chopped
1 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. oil
1 tbsp. sugar
1 onion, chopped
Freshly ground pepper
1 pkg. (12 oz.) egg noodles

Sprinkle cabbage with salt. Let stand for 30 minutes. Squeeze dry and blot on paper towels. Heat the oil in 12 inch skillet and brown the sugar. Add onions and cook until they start to wilt. Stir in cabbage and saute, stirring frequently until tender. Season to taste with pepper. Keep warm.

Cook noodles as per package directions until tender. Drain and toss noodles with the cabbage mixture. Serve immediately. Makes 8 to 10 servings. (This is one of my Mother's recipes.
