1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1 c. raisins

Add soda to applesauce before putting with other ingredients. Cream shortening and sugar together. Sift flour, salt, cinnamon and allspice in then add applesauce. Bring raisins to a boil to soften then add to batter. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 35 minutes or until done.
