3 or 4 potatoes sliced thick
Salt and pepper to taste
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 c. grated American cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Boil potatoes in water until tender. Drain, season with salt and pepper. Place in shallow 1 quart casserole. Pour mushroom soup over potatoes. Top with cheese. Place in oven until cheese has melted.
