GELATIN DESSERT 
2 pkgs. Knox gelatin (unflavored)
1/4 c. cold water
3/4 c. hot water
4 egg whites
1 c. sugar
1 pt. whipping cream, whipped
1 lg. can fruit cocktail, well drained
1 box vanilla wafers

Add gelatin to cold water to soften. Add hot water to dissolve, then let stand until lukewarm. Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold in sugar and add to gelatin. Make fine crumbs out of cookies and line 9 x 13 inch shallow pan. Save 1/2 cup of crumbs to sprinkle on top. Add fruit cocktail and whipped cream to gelatin mix. Pour into lined pan. Spread evenly and sprinkle remaining crumbs on top. Place in refrigerator overnight.
