THE JAMES BEET SALAD 
Iceberg lettuce
Small can sliced beets
1/4 - 1/2 c. sliced almonds
1 egg, hard boiled, then grated
1/2 - 1 c. shredded cheddar cheese
Ranch dressing

On a platter or wide bowl, break lettuce into bite size pieces. Drain sliced beets and cut into julienne strips. Arrange on top of the lettuce. Then take cheese and spread around. Then take grated egg and spread around. Just before serving, put on dressing but don't toss. It's a decorative salad.
