1/4 c. butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 box cake mix (yellow or devils food)
1 egg
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and cheese. Blend in egg and vanilla. Add dry mix 1/3 at a time. If mixer is used add last 1/3 by hand. Cover and chill 30 minutes. Drop by scant teaspoons on ungreased cookie sheet. Set oven at 375 degrees. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Sprinkle with colored sugar for holidays. Makes about 5 dozen.
