BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
25 cucumbers
10 onions
1 c. salt
1 gal. water
3 pts. vinegar
2 1/2 c. sugar
4 tsp. celery seed
4 tsp. mustard seed
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. turmeric

Slice cucumbers and onions. Let stand in mixture of salt and water for 1 hour. Drain well. Mix remaining ingredients and boil with pickles and onions for 3 minutes. Sterilize jars and lids; fill with pickle recipe and seal jars. Recipe can be varied according to personal taste.
