ZIPLOC OMELET | |
Everyone gets involved in the process and it's a great conversation piece, with EASY CLEAN UP!!! No pans to wash!! quart size freezer bags (Ziploc) eggs (2 per bag) cheese (your choice) SUGGESTED ADDITIONAL FILLINGS: chopped ham bacon bits chopped onion chopped green pepper or chives chopped tomatoes, mushrooms hash browns Have family or guests write their names on a quart-size Ziploc freezer bag with permanent marker. Crack two eggs (large or x-large) into the bag (not more than two) (1 works well for kids). Seal, then shake or squish to scramble eggs in the bag. Put out a variety of ingredients such as - cheeses, chopped ham, bacon bits, chopped onion, chopped green pepper or chives, chopped tomatoes, mushrooms, hash browns, etc. Whatever you like in an omelette. Each guest adds prepared ingredients of their choice to the bag and zips it up. Place bags in large pot of boiling water for 13-15 minutes (for 6-8 bags). For more bags I recommend using a second pot of boiling water. Any omelettes that are extremely large, cook about 2 minutes longer. When done, remove from water. Will also work for just one omelette too. Open bags and omelettes will roll out onto plate easily. Be prepared for everyone to be AMAZED!! Nice to serve with fresh fruit and coffee cake.
