SCOTTISH SHORT BREAD 
Cream together:

1/2 lb. butter
1/2 c. sugar + 2 tbsp.
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tbsp. salt
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Bake in 250 degree oven 1 hour (no more). Use square 8 x 8 inch ungreased pan.
