NEW ZEALAND'S FAMOUS PAVLOVA 
5 egg whites
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vinegar
7 oz. fine sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 tsp. cream of tartar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
Whipped topping
Ice cream

In a blender, blend the sugar until it is very fine. Beat egg whites, salt and vanilla until stiff. Add sugar gradually while still beating. Slow the beater down and add cornstarch, vinegar and cream of tartar. Place on greased paper which is on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour, then leave for 1 further hour with the oven turned off. Place strawberries and kiwi fruit on top. Serve with whipped topping or ice cream.
