RAISIN LOVERS BARS | |
1 box raisins 2/3 c. sugar 2 tbsp. cornstarch Water to cover 1 c. butter 1 3/4 c. brown sugar 1 tsp. baking soda 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. nuts, chopped Cover raisins with water. Add sugar and cornstarch. Cook until thick. Cool. Mix remaining ingredients, except nuts, well. Dough will be stiff. Pat slightly more than half into a greased pan, 15 1/2" x 10 1/2". Spread with raisin filling. Top with nuts. Crumble remaining dough mixture over filling. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes until golden brown. Cool and cut into bars. |
