RUTH'S EASY FUDGE FROSTING 
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
1/4 cup cocoa
pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Put first 5 ingredients in saucepan. Bring to a boil and boil hard for 1 minute. Remove from heat. Add vanilla. Beat well and spread on cooled cake.

Note: If it gets a bit too thick for frosting stir in a small bit of cream or evaporated milk.
