DATE PUDDING CAKE | |
Cake: 1/2 c. dates, cut fine 1 c. boiling water 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tbsp. butter 1 egg 1 c. sugar 1 1/2 c. flour 2 c. chopped nuts Combine ingredients and mix well. Bake at 350°F for 40 to 45 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool. Top with topping. Topping: 1/2 c. dates 1/2 c. sugar 3/4 c. boiling water 1/2 c. chopped nuts Cook dates, sugar and water for 5 minutes or until thick. Add chopped nuts. Spread on cake and serve. |
