DATE AND NUT PUDDING 
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
1 c. dates

Mix and put in ungreased oblong or square cake pan. Pour on top: 3/4 c. white sugar 1 1/2 c. boiling water 1 tbsp. butter 3/4 c. nuts

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

AMBER SAUCE:

Mix in saucepan: 1/2 c. corn syrup 1/4 c. soft butter 1/2 c. cream (coffee or half and half)

Cook over low heat, stirring to blend well (5 minutes). Amount: 2 cups. Serve warm over Date Nut Pudding or other cakes, puddings, and ice cream or apple dumplings. May be topped with a scoop of ice cream.
