OATMEAL COOKIES 
2 sticks butter plus 3/4 inch
2/3 c. sugar
2 1/3 c. old-fashioned oats
1 egg
2/3 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 pkg. vanilla sugar (German deli store)

Heat butter in saucepan. Stir in sugar and oats. Let cool a little. Now stir in all the other ingredients, the eggs last. Make medium size balls and spoon with teaspoons onto cookie sheet. Bake at 325 to 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until edges turn lightly brown. Bake in center of oven.
