BEER BREAD | |
3 c. all purpose flour 1 tsp. salt 3 tsp. baking powder or 3 c. self-rising flour 3 tbsp. sugar 12 oz. can room temperature beer (dark or light) 1/2 c. grated cheese (optional) 1/4 c. chopped onions (optional) Mix all - flour, sugar and beer (salt and baking powder). May add grated cheese or onions to give different flavor to the bread. Mix until just moist. Put into greased loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Butter top and bake an additional 10 minutes at 400 degrees until golden brown. Makes great toast too! |
