APPLE CRISP 
6 apples, peeled
1/2 c. white sugar
butter
1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. oatmeal
1/2 c. butter, melted

Slice apples into a bowl. Add the 1/2 cup white sugar and stir. Put apple-sugar mixture into a buttered 8x12x2 pan. Dot with butter.

Combine the flour, soda, baking powder, brown sugar, oatmeal, and melted butter. Sprinkle this crumbly mixture over the apples and press down firmly. Bake in 350 degree oven about 45 minutes.

You may make Rhubarb Crisp by using 6 cups rhubarb (cut into 1-inch pieces) and 1 cup white sugar. Follow rest of instructions as above.
