BEEF BRISKET WITH SAUERKRAUT | |
4 lbs. beef brisket Hot water 1 tbsp. salt, pepper 1 qt. sauerkraut 1 c. vinegar 3 tbsp. brown sugar 1 uncooked potato, grated Cover brisket with water, season and simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Add sauerkraut, vinegar, and brown sugar. Cook about 1 hour longer or until meat is tender. Add grated potato and cook 10 minutes longer. Serves 8. |
