FRUIT CAKE 
1 lb. Brazil nuts, in shell
6 oz. pecans
1 1/2 lb. dates
1 sm. jar maraschino cherries
Dash of salt
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
2 c. flour
1/2 c. cherry juice
4 eggs, well beaten
3 tbsp. melted butter

Shell Brazil nuts. Put nuts, cherries and dates in the bottom of loaf pan. Beat eggs. Add cherry juice (add water to make 1/2 cup) and dry ingredients. Mix lightly, pour over nuts, cherries and dates. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees.
