RICE PUDDING 
4 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. long grain rice
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. freshly ground nutmeg

Butter 1 1/2 quart baking dish. In large bowl, combine all ingredients until well mixed. Pour into buttered dish and bake 3 1/2 hours stirring occasionally. Serve warm or cold with a drizzle of cream or milk, vanilla ice cream on warm pudding also good. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Serves 8. My mother's recipe.
