BASIC SWEET DOUGH | |
1 pkg. dry yeast 1/4 c. warm water 1/4 c. sugar 8 tbsp. butter 1 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 c. milk, scalded 1 egg 2 1/2 - 3 c. flour Soften yeast in warm water. Combine sugar, butter, salt and milk. Cool to lukewarm. Stir in egg and yeast. Gradually add flour to form a stiff dough. Knead on floured surface 5 to 8 minutes. Place in greased bowl and let rise until double, about 1 1/2 hours. Shape as desired for your favorite sweet rolls. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes for most recipes. |
