BASIC SWEET DOUGH 
1 pkg. yeast
1 c. warm milk
1 egg
1/4 c. sugar
4 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. salt
3 1/2 to 4 c. flour

Soften yeast in liquid (milk); add remaining ingredients and knead until smooth and elastic, about 3 minutes. Cover and let stand until it is double in bulk. Roll out for cinnamon rolls or cobblers.
