EASY VEGETABLE SOUP 
1/4 lb. bacon or 1/4 lb. ground beef
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
2 cans condensed beef broth
1 c. celery, chopped
1 c. cabbage, chopped
1 bag frozen variety mixed vegetables
1 c. uncooked pasta or rice
2 tbsp. parsley
1 tsp. basil
Salt & pepper to taste
2 c. water

Saute meat, add onion and garlic. Add everything else except frozen veggies. Simmer 20 minutes. Add frozen veggies. Simmer 20 minutes more.
