DADDY'S NAVY BEAN SOUP 
2 c. dry navy beans
6 1/2 c. water
1/4 lb. smoked pork sausage, diced
1/4 c. carrot, diced
2 green onions, chopped
1 beef bouillon cube
1/2 c. canned condensed tomato soup
Salt and pepper to taste

Place beans in a large soup kettle. Cover with water and soak overnight. Drain beans. Combine beans, 5 1/2 cups water, sausage, carrot, green onions, and bouillon cube. Bring to a boil, cover, and reduce heat. Simmer 2 hours. Mash bean mixture with potato masher. Combine tomato soup, salt, and pepper with 1 cup water. Add to bean mixture. Cook over low heat 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Makes 1 1/2 quarts.
