FROZEN ICE CREAM DESSERT 
1 lg. box vanilla wafers, crushed (reserve 1 cup)
1/2 gal. vanilla ice cream
2 (1 oz.) chocolate squares
1/2 c. butter
2 c. confectioners sugar
3 egg yolks, beaten, separated
3 egg whites, beaten, separated
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts, chopped (walnuts, pecans, peanuts,) (optional)

Spread crushed wafers into bottom of buttered 9 x 13 inch pan. Slice ice cream to make even layers on top. Melt chocolate squares and butter together. Add sugar and beaten egg yolks and white, then vanilla. Pour over ice cream. Sprinkle rest of vanilla wafers on top. Add nuts on top of vanilla wafers. Cover and freeze.
