A BETTER CHIPPER 
1 c. butter
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c sugar
2 eggs, unbeaten
1 tsp. hot water
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 c. oatmeal
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi sweet chocolate chips
1 c. walnuts or pecans, chopped (optional)
1 c. Heath, Bit o' Brickle, or chopped Heath bars

Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs and beat well. Add hot water and vanilla. Sift flour, soda, salt. Add flour mixture and oatmeal to above and mix well. Add chocolate chips, nuts, and brickle bits. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheets and bake for 10 to 12 minutes at 325 degrees. Cool on cooling rack.

Makes 6 dozen.
